Elevators

In the main lobby, left of the security desk, you will see a locked glass door that leads to the building’s main elevators.
The glass door says, Caribbean Sea View (see just below).

Unlocking the Main Elevator Waiting Room Door

In order to get buzzed in:

  • Go to the intercom to the right of the glass door
  • Press:  (symbol) +    2600 (our apartment number)
  •   When we answer, PLEASE STATE YOUR NAME and the APARTMENT YOU ARE GOING TO for example: “Hi, this is Jenny checking into Sol Studio”.

This will connect you with us over a phone intercom (you will speak with us via speakerphone) after we confirm it is you, we will buzz you in.

If by any chance, someone opens the door for you and you proceed to go up to the apartment, please notify us when you are settled in so that we know you have arrived.

You will only have to do this ONCE.

After you are buzzed in, you will go up to the apartment, introduce your door code (sent on the day of check-in), and you will get the glass door key (usually left on the counter) which also opens the main building door when it is locked (after hours).
ALWAYS TAKE THE KEY WITH YOU!

  • Dial: (#) sign, then (2600)
  • Speak to the intercom & say your full name & where you are checking in to.
  • Get buzzed in
  • Get close to the elevator door to open because you will hear a high pitched buzz which indicates when the door is unclocked.
TO UNLOCK THE ELEVATOR DOOR WITH THE KEY, YOU WILL NEED TO WIGGLE THE KEY TO THE RIGHT AND THE DOOR WILL BUZZ AND SIMPLY PUSH THE DOOR.

 Using the Elevators

Being at the top of San Juan requires you to ascend 26 stories. The elevators are nice and normally efficient. The elevators, however, maybe a little quirky but they are safe.

There is a faster, if not, less appealing alternative to go up and down the building (see ALTERNATIVE ELEVATOR below)

ALTERNATIVE ELEVATOR

Once you have the main elevator key which is located either on the kitchen peninsula or on the work desk; you can use this very same key to open the second elevator located behind a closed-door just opposite the apartment building intercom that you use to get buzzed in.

You will see that the elevator is called, “elevador de carga or cargo elevator. It is not as spacious, nice, or fancy as the main elevators but it is much faster. Most residents use this elevator simply because of efficiency. Don’t be afraid of all the elevator mechanics which you hear and feel.

Also, there is a 10-second delay for the door to close.
