Viejo San Juan
The gem and heart of Puerto Rico is el Viejo San Juan (Old San Juan). An UNESCO world heritage site with quaint Spanish colorful colonial streets and buildings and a lot of history. you could spend days exploring these historic streets and its various forts, museums, and dining/drinking in the myriad of excellent establishments. This is one of our favorite places to watch the sunset in San Juan (if not at one of the beaches!). We highly recommend that you walk to the area of el Morro at the tip of Old San Juan some time around 6:30 P.M. and and walk across the great open field and find a nice spot to sit on to the left of the ruins of el Morro to watch the sunset over the Atlantic (see picture below).
